How To Choose The Right Bulk Olive Oil Supplier?

The increasing demand for olive oil around the world has also spurred illegal activities in the industry. From counterfeited oils to mislabelled extra virgin olive oil, the market is becoming a place of olive oil mishap and we cannot blame the consumers and importers for being extra careful in purchasing the product famously labelled as ‘liquid gold.’

Being a Spanish olive oil supplier for more than 30 years, we learned a lot of industry pointers especially in dealing with fraudulence relating to our products. That is why we want to share with you some important tips when purchasing bulk olive oil.

Years in the industry

How long has your supplier been in the olive oil business?

Building a good reputation takes years, and you should feel comfortable in dealing with a supplier who has been in the business for quite some time.

As you know the market changes a lot and is quite unpredictable as well. Having a supplier who already earned their expertise in projecting price and supply trends is a great advantage on your part.

Reliability and trustworthiness

Choose a supplier that has a dedicated team. You can know this by observing how they respond to your queries and if they go extra mile for you. There is nothing better than working with a company that is willing to help and assist you.

Producer of quality oil

The most important part.

How will you know if you are receiving authentic olive oil? More often than not, olive oil supplier who is also an olive oil producer can deliver high quality of olive oil. This is why it is a great advantage on your end if you get your olive oil from a producer.

And with regards to quality assurance, ask for a copy of their certificates. Are their products kosher and halal certified? The standard manufacturing certificates should also include ISF, ISO, and HACCP.
On top of that, you can also reduce overall cost given the absence of additional taxes and profit margins from the middlemen.

On the other hand, purchasing directly from the producer may require buying a larger quantity. If you can’t do this, for now, our advice is to countercheck the producer of your supplier.

These are the general guidelines on how to choose a trustworthy olive oil supplier. And as a responsible buyer, please take time to learn about olive oil grades and qualities. Feel free to ask questions, and take time to visit the facility of your supplier if you can. For sure they are more than welcome to tour you around.
