Our Story
At the heart of L&P Global BV lies the inspiring story of three generations dedicated to excellence in the food sector. Our roots trace back to the 1950s when our founder, Pieter Ploegmakers, began his journey in the food industry. Driven by a passion for quality and innovation, Pieter ventured to Australia in the 1960s to grow strawberries in Seymour (Brisbane), achieving remarkable success.
Returning to The Netherlands at the end of the decade, Pieter joined the family farm, expanding its operations to include the cleaning, freezing, and selling of vegetables to leading European multinational companies. This marked the beginning of a legacy built on quality and trust.
In 1998, Pieter’s daughter, Lily Ploegmakers, established our Spanish subsidiary in Amposta, Tarragona. Under her leadership, the company thrived, purchasing and processing fresh vegetables from Spanish growers and exporting them, cut and frozen, to various European countries. Our specialization in organic food for the baby industry underscored our commitment to quality, soundness, and traceability.
Today, L&P Global BV operates under the guidance of the third generation of the Ploegmakers family. With subsidiaries in Europe (Spain, The Netherlands, and Romania) and China (Qingdao, Shandong), we continue to expand our global footprint while staying true to our core values.
